Stop Singing the “All By Myself” Blues!

Just because you are a solopreneur, doesn’t mean you have to feel lonely!

Your uniform of choice, PJs!!!

To be honest, I think the term solopreneur is kinda lame! Why do people feel the need to define entrepreneurs based on if they have staff or not? Truthfully, I think running a business solo is the best thing you can do, at least initially. Yes, working all day in your jammies day after day can make you feel a bit like a hermit. It is also easy to feel isolated and like you are going at it all alone. But, there is no need need to have a pity party and sing a Bridget Jones version of  “All By Myself” because here are 3 easy ways to plug into your community:
1. Make a list of at least 5 cool people you met at the last local craft show you participated in:

Send out an invite to all meet up for dinner or drinks. It will be a great way for y’all to get to know each other better and learn from one another. Plus you might make some awesome like-minded new pals! If it all goes well, you could even turn it into a monthly ritual.

2. Find an accountability partner:
Find at least one other solopreneur who you know and trust. Agree to Skype each other every couple of weeks to make sure you are both on track. Make sure you stick to your goals and don’t get sidetracked.

3. Get out and network, baby!
Ok, I know networking can be a pain in the ass sometimes, but I learned as long as you are picky about the events you go to it can be super fabulous! Seek out groups and events that jive with your personality so you can meet awesome people you will have lots in common with. As I have experienced, the more events you go to, the more friends you make so it actually becomes a lot of fun!

Most importantly, when leaving the house don’t forget to take off your bunny slippers!

Sparkly love,

xoxo
